Animal Rescue

A logical concern for an animal’s well-being is sometimes referred to as animal welfare. Although animal rescue is different from animal welfare both share the same goals and that is to save animals from abuse and inhumane actions from their pet owners. Animals should not suffer needlessly, including where the animals are used for laboratory purposes, researches, and unnecessary workforce. They focus on rescuing these helpless animals from the cruel hands of their owner. Organizations with humane dealings do not just merely speak of animal rights in its political manner but focuses more on the human inactions towards these creatures.

A methodical concern for the welfare of the animals traces back on the early ages. It was thought to first start in the religious practice of Indus Civilization, where they believed that their great ancestors re-incarnate into animal forms. Therefore, they treated animals with the same respect that they have for humans. Other old religions, specifically those with Abraham roots, also treat animals with high regards; they even set rules for the care and abuses of these animals.

Of course, there is always a con-side to the story. Some people are critiques to animal rescues for they arguably say that rescuers demonstrate an unfair judgment and concern over the animals without giving justification for their actions. Examples are when they favor pets or companion animals over commercialized animals, wild animals over domesticated ones, and mammals over species of reptiles, birds, or fishes. These claims are under your judgment. We cannot deny the fact that there will always be a negative side beneath each undertaking. It will fall under your mature discernment whether or not to consider such accusations. We need to look at the pros and cons of the whole situation.

Advocates of this humane movement have an advantage over their early forms because they have the power of media including the internet. Internet plays a major part of today’s life; they sometimes substitute our daily newspapers and televisions that’s why animal rescuers found this a helpful tool. One very good example is the animal rescue site. They utilize the power of the internet to help spread the word. They provide food for the unwanted and abused animals given in animal rescue shelters in the U.S. annually. Through easy and immediate online activities, they provide a way for busy people to help promote awareness and avoid animal deaths every single day.

ARF as what it is commonly known is a no-kill type of shelter where they do not euthanize pets for the full remainder of their life whether adopted or not. They were founded in 1991 with a mission to build a world where every companion animal has a home to call their own. They do not just focus in finding a place for them to stay but they also promote the concept that the well-being of people’s lives will be enriched by strengthening the mutual bonds between animals and humans.

These are only few of the many animal rescue organizations in existence today. Pets or companion animals grew in numbers during the latest listing back in 2005. It was known to reach 60 million dogs whereas 75 million cats are kept as household pets and bond between pets and pet owners have rapidly strengthen. Animal rescue has been established and will surely grow more and more in accordance to the increasing number of advocates and animals alike. Televisions, radios, internet, are home to countless sources of animal rescue information readily available for use. Partake in this great deed and help save thousands of lives – animal lives.-
